This month, we're featuring one of our hard working Field Service Technicians; Karl Romriell. Karl spends his time traveling the country keeping STULZ's CRACs and CRAHs running smoothly!

How long have you been with STULZ?
I have been with STULZ for 10 years.
What is your current role at STULZ?
I am a Field Service Technician, I travel around the country doing start-up, trouble shooting, and repairs of STULZ equipment. I also help customers with training, unit operations and any other questions they have.
Before working at STULZ, what was the most unusual or interesting job you ever had?
I worked at Aggreko and used to set up temporary generators and air conditioners for all sorts of venues. The most interesting job was setting up for the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, Utah.
What motivates you to wake up and come to work?
I love the fact that I travel and get to see the country and always be in new places. I have been to 48 of the 50 states while working for STULZ. I still need to make it to Hawaii and Maine.
What has been your favorite project at STULZ so far?
My first international job for STULZ, where I performed start up of 6 Chilled Water units in the Bahamas. The weather was beautiful, and the ocean was warm, though the beach was closed every night at 8:00 PM because of jellyfish migration. The startup was very straight forward and they were closed for lunch from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM so I was able to spend some time experiencing the Bahamas. KFC had just built its first restaurant there and the locals were very excited. It was also interesting to drive on the left side of the road and sit on the left side of the car.

What is your favorite sport/team?
When you're not traveling for work, what do you like to do?
I enjoy the outdoors and I love hunting. I also love to cook and bake. I wanted to be a chef in high school.
